Frank Chauner

Founder, Managing Director

Frank is the founder and managing director of Chauner Securities, Inc.  With over 50 years of experience in the investment business, Frank has established himself as an expert in structuring and distributing direct participation programs, primarily in private real estate.  While President of Chauner Securities, the firm was sole dealer or managing dealer of 84 offerings totaling over $1 billion of investor capital.  Frank was also a manager or general partner of a series of 25 CGR Real Estate Investment Funds which were formed between 1984-2010 with a total initial capitalization of over $52 million. 

Frank was also the founder of Chauner, Graver & Associates, an investment management firm, and the predecessor of CSI.  Prior to founding Chauner Graver & Associates in 1980, Frank was employed by The Northern Trust Company, Chicago, Illinois from 1974 through early 1980 serving as a portfolio manager and advising trust department customers on real estate partnership investments.  His last position at Northern Trust was Vice President and Division Head of the Insurance and Corporate Advisory Services Division.  From 1969 to 1974 he was employed as portfolio manager at Smith Barney and Company, New York, New York where he was Second Vice President in the Capital Management Department.

Frank earned an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1969 and a BA from Northwestern University in 1967.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Registered Securities Principal and holds his Series 6, 7, 22, 24, 39, 63, 79TO and 99TO.

Frank is a proud Florida resident who loves spending time on his bike or playing pickleball.

Sarah Cyphers

Managing Director, Chief Compliance Officer

Sarah is a Managing Director and Chief Compliance officer of CSI.  She joined CSI in 2002 and has been involved in all aspects of the broker dealer including managing dealer services, supporting the firm’s registered representatives and their clients, overseeing all compliance, supervisory functions and running the operations of the broker dealer.  In addition, Sarah assisted in the management, fundraising, reporting and administration of 18 CGR Real Estate Funds with a total initial capitalization of over $40 million. 

Prior to joining CSI, Sarah was a Project Manager at SkyWorld Interactive, an internet marketing consulting firm in Boston, MA.  Sarah began her career at Northern Trust in the Corporate and Institutional Services Development Training Program which led to a position as a performance analyst in the Risk & Performance Group.  During her tenure at Northern Trust, she spent time working in their London office on the Y2K conversion of their performance data.

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University in 1997.   She is a Registered Securities Principal, Financial Operations Principal and holds her Series 7, 63, 28, 24, 14 and 79TO. 

Sarah lives in Northbrook, IL with her husband and two teenage children.  She enjoys playing paddle tennis in the winter and tennis or pickleball in the summer. Sarah also loves hiking or skiing in the Western US or soaking up the sun on the beaches of Costa Rica, Mexico or Captiva, FL.

Pamela Reed

Administrative Director

Pam joined CSI in 1999 and has been an integral part of the firm’s operations, primarily in an administrative capacity.  She is responsible for all of the fund reporting and accounting for the CGR Funds as well as supporting the registered representatives of the broker-dealer.  Additionally, Pam is involved in processing subscriptions and working directly with sponsors, registered representatives and investors to ensure orders are handled efficiently and accurately.

Prior to joining CSI, Pam was Vice President and Treasurer for Lederer Investment Counsel a West Coast money manager.  Pam earned a BA degree in economics from the University of California Irvine in 1984.
